Welcome to the POG

Before I bought my Prius (in late April of this year) I spent a lot of time researching hybrids. I had a set of criteria and what I thought would be the car of my choice (the Honda Insight). I read at dozens of forums, on more than a few email lists, before I came to the conclusion that in fact, the Insight wasn't what I wanted, I wanted a Prius. I visited the dealerships, which only confirmed my thoughts, and bought the Prius.

In the time since then I've come to very much enjoy the car. I'm not really a "car person". Sure "Car Talk" is funny but I don't think I've ever bought a car magazine or spent so mush as an hour looking for cars or at cars. For me, cars are a means to an end and all too frequently, an inefficient means. The Prius has proven, this far, to be a wonderful solution. It's enjoyable to drive and it makes good sense on a number of levels.

So, since the net was so helpful to me, I wanted to create a place, a single place, where Prius owners could gather. It is not my goal to replace a single hybrid or Prius resource on the web, rather, I hope that the POG can become a focal point where an owner, or a prospective buyer could come and find numerous opinions, facts and images that will help them with what they need. I hope the POG becomes a useful gathering place for owners to hold get-togethers, meetings or conferences. I hope that we will create cool new stuff for the car, and for Prius owners, to help them further enjoy their vehicle.
